The Yovo Privacy Policy
We are in the business of protecting content you create whether it is a message, a comment, a photo, or a video. We want your content to be reliably shared and consumed.
We care a lot about your privacy. This document is our Privacy Policy, which describes what information we collect from you and how we use it.
Our Privacy Policy applies to our website, including Yovo.me, our mobile application, Yovo, and other services we provide. It covers Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”), which is information we can link to you personally. PII may include data like your name (chosen by you for posting), geo-location data (with your permission), application ID other unique identifier.

1. Information We Collect
A. PURPOSE
We collect only information that is needed to perform and improve our services to you, which we store and associate with your account.
B. USER ACCOUNT
We assign you a default username when you download and use the Yovo app. You must choose a nickname the first time you submit content. You can change your nickname any time using the Yovo app. Your Yovo user account information may include the default username, chosen nickname, geo-location data, application ID or other unique identifier, and/or mobile device ID.
C. MOBILE DEVICE
When you use Yovo, our servers may automatically record certain information about your mobile device. This information may include information such as an equipment identifier (e.g., IMEI, UDID), subscriber identifier (e.g., IMSI), device name, mobile phone number, device type and manufacturer, operating system type and version, wireless carrier / operator, network type, country of origin, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, and the dates and times of your requests.
D. SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media features (“Features”), like the Facebook recommend button or interactive mini-programs that run on our site, will collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our site, and set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Features may be hosted by a third-party or hosted directly on our site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the provider of the Features, not by this Yovo Privacy Policy.
E. INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR USE OF YOVO SERVICES
We improve our products by using mobile analytics software. This software records information about events that occur within the Yovo app, how often you use the app, and when the app was downloaded. We do not link any of this information to any of your PII.
F. INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR USE OF YOVO’S WEBSITES
We use one or more analytics services to measure how people use our websites so that we can improve our products and services. This information is not linked to any of your PII.
G. INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR USE OF SOCIAL NETWORKING SERVICES
You may use the Yovo app to share your content over social networking services such as Twitter and Facebook. We do not collect your account credentials for those social networking services, nor do we have access to those credentials.
2. Cookie Policy
Like many online services, we use cookies and other tools to collect and analyze information about you and your usage of our services. Cookies are small data files that we transfer to your mobile device. We use “session” cookies to keep you logged in while you use our services, to better understand how you interact with our services, and to monitor aggregate usage and web traffic information on our services. Session cookies disappear when you log out and close your browser. We also use “persistent” cookies to recognize you when you return to our services. Persistent cookies can stay on your device for a longer period of time than session cookies.
3. We Use Your Personally Identifiable Information to Provide and Improve Our Services
Your information is used internally on a limited basis to enhance and improve our services to you. For example:
- We may use client device information to notify you of an operating system update.
- If you fill out a survey or email us for support, we will retain the information you give us in order to provide you with support and to improve our services.
- We may share encrypted (hashed) equipment identifier numbers with analytics services to understand how new users find out about our application.
- We may use your mobile number for administrative purposes, to notify you of privacy or security related notices, let you know about changes to our services, to send you product announcements, and perhaps other customer service related purposes.
4. Your Privacy is Not for Sale
We will not sell any personally identifiable information we collect from you.
5. If We Are Required by Law to Disclose Your Personally Identifiable Information We Will Notify You
We may be required to disclose your PII to comply with a law, regulation or regulatory request; or to protect personal safety; or to address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect our rights or property. We will notify you electronically at the mobile number listed in your account if we are required to disclose your PII, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
6. We Share Your PII When Necessary to Provide Our Services
We use your PII to perform or improve our services. This may include sharing aspects of your PII with third-parties (for example, to map your location or send you an SMS). We require that these parties agree to process such information in compliance with our Privacy Policy, that they use reasonable efforts to limit their use of such information, and that they use appropriate confidentiality and security measures to protect your information.
7. We May Use Your PII to Avoid Unnecessary Marketing
Your status as a current Yovo customer may be shared with partners and service providers to avoid receiving duplicate or unnecessary marketing about Yovo. Our partners are contractually prevented from using this information for any other purpose.
8. We Take Security Seriously
We are a privacy company, and securing your data is one of our top priorities. We use commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards. For example, we use a combination of firewalls, encryption, authentication, physical security, and other safeguards to protect your account and your data. We use secure socket layer technology (SSL) to protect user-provided data in transmission. We perform third-party penetration tests to harden our systems from attack.
Notwithstanding these safeguards, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you or your recipients transmit to us; nor can we guarantee that information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
If we learn of a security systems breach, we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. We may also post a notice on the Yovo.me site if a security breach occurs.
9. International Visitors and Safe Harbor Compliance
We are a Plano, Texas-based company with servers housed in the United States. Personal information collected from users outside the United States is transferred to the United States and processed according to United States law.
We comply with the U.S. – E.U. Safe Harbor Framework and the U.S. – Swiss Safe Harbor framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal data from European Union member countries and Switzerland. We adhere to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement. 10. You Need a Parent’s Permission to Use The Yovo App and Services if You Are Under the Age of 18
Our services are not directed to users under 18 and we do not knowingly collect PII from users under 18. If you are under 18 years of age, but at least 17 years old, you must receive your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to use the Services. If you believe a child is using this service without parental consent, please contact us at support@yovo.me.
11. We Are Not Responsible for Content on Third-Party Websites
Our site contains links to other websites. When you click on one of these links, you leave the Yovo.me website and go elsewhere. We do not accept liability for misuse of any information by any website controller to which we may link. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of these linked sites, which may differ from ours. In addition, if you take advantage of an offer from one of our partners, you may be providing information directly to that partner. We encourage you to review the privacy statements of these partners, as we are not responsible for the privacy practices of any partners or linked sites.
12. We Post Updates on Our Website Whenever This Policy Changes
This Privacy Policy may be revised. If we make material changes to this policy, then we will notify you in our application, here on this website, by email, or by means of a notice on the Yovo.me home page.
